"TH!NK City" of "Kraftwerke Oberhasli" (Switzerland) tested by "TWIKE KLUB"

On 18th May 2008, members of the organization "TWIKE KLUB" from Switzerland visited the "Kraftwerke Oberhasli" in Innertkirchen/Switzerland for a test ride in a new "TH!NK City" by "TH!NK Global" from Oslo/Norway.

Very good news from Germany : Daimler announced new version of electric A-Class

In issue 17/2008 (31st July 2008) of the popular german magazine "auto motor und sport", Mercedes Benz (Daimler) announced the release of a new electric version of the A-Class for 2010.

This sounds great in times of massive problems with exploding fuel prices, SMOG and CO2-emissions.

Because this electric version of the A-Class needs only about 20 kilo-Watt-hours (kWh) of electric energy for 100 km (ca. 60 miles) of emission-free driving.

In Germany, the price for 20 kWh of electric energy produced with renewable energy is only ca. 4 EUR, e.g. 19,99 Cent / kWh at Lichtblick.

According to "auto motor und sport" this hopeful Battery Electric Auto (BEA) is powered by a Li-Ion battery.

Daimler announced the first presentation of the new electric A-Class at the Detroit Motor Show in Jan. 2009 and this could be the begining of a final breakthrough of Battery Electric Autos worldwide !!!

They want to start with a small series production in Germany in 2010.

Nothing is said about the price of the new electric A-Class and how many cars will be produced, but a mass produced electric A-Class could certainly be sold or leased for the same price like "usual" models of the A-Class with internal combustion engine, burning gasoline, diesel, natural gas or vegetable oil.

This has been proved already with the first version of the electric A-Class, the 1997 "ZEBRA-A-Class", powered by the "ZEBRA-Battery", and with an average range of 200 km (125 miles), built for California because of the ZEVM.

Revolutionary : Better Place solves range problem of Battery Electric Autos (BEAs)

In issue 17/2008 (31st July 2008) of the popular german magazine "auto motor und sport", Shai Agassi, founder of the company "Better Place" in Palo Alto/California, introduced his solution for the range problems of BEAs : a network of battery switching stations.

Great news for all friends of BEAs, "Better Place" is a new hope for a final breakthrough of BEAs worldwide, it gives the major automakers a perfect base for mass production - and takes from them their last excuse.

EAA wakes up Texas : interview with Dale Brooks and Steve Mathis on KPFT

On 27. November 2008, Dale Brooks and Steve Mathis of the EAA Houston gave an arousing radio interview about the benefits of Battery Electric Autos on KPFT.

The clear message of the 45 minutes on air : BEAs are the cars of the 21st century, as they are not dependent on US petroleum-imports and are ready for mass production - NOW !!!
